2nd in the raybearer duology. I actually read the first half of redemptor, and then I think I just got bored of it. I think at this point I'd have to reread the first book before starting over.
It's been almost 2 years since I put it down atp. I remember thinking it was a little slow compared to the first book. I did really like the first book, so I'd like to eventually give this one another try.
Again, read half of it before putting it down. It's about books bound in human skin, and one of the few nonfiction books I own. Sounds edgy, but for the most part it explores the complete lack of ethics in the medical field up until the 20th(?) century that lead to the existance of such books.
Also elaborates on how they took samples of the covers to either prove or disprove suspected books.
It was super interesting, definitely want to pick it back up at some point.
Read the first 1&1/2 of the trilogy in middle school and haven't touched it since. I have the whole thing in one volume so the print is tiny. it's a little embarassing. Lol.
Got this after a friend recced it to me. I've never been into contemporary fiction so I'm not super inclined to read it atm. Always a chance tho
I don't remember the first thing about this book. I think it might involve time travel. On the list
can't remember why I got this. Can't have been cheap
I made a separate page for the stuff I'm currently reading. Check it out if you want xoxo
update 9/9/23: I left literally all of these books in the crawlspace under my parents house when I moved out for college. these books are not getting fucking read lmao.
When I got my first job in hs, a solid amount of my allowance went into buying books. Some of them I didn't read, which I feel a little bad about. Go to a library!!
Anyways, I feel a little bad about putting them off while I go read other stuff. I'm going to put all my unread books here to hold myself accountable or something, because I do want to read most of them.
my mom went to some astronomy lecture and got this book for free, which she gave to me when I was like 11. Solidly interesting.
4/5, needs more physics
I had to take differential equations twice, but certainly not because of this textbook. Explained concepts well, and then hit them home with solid example problems.
5/5. the university i'm transferring to doesn't accept the DE course i took as equivalent to theirs. So I have to take this class a third time. Maybe they'll use this textbook, too?
It's been three years, this is from a hs course. I think it was ok
4/5 for 'unprecedented' (i took this class fall 2020 haha get it)
I get all my books from used book sites. the picture said 5e which is what i needed but they sent me 4e. the kicker? i had to pay for international shipping because those lying bastards were in CANADA
4/5 for 4th edition instead of 5th
The correct edition and the more interesting volume. Had to take physics 122 twice and barely passed 123. this textbook was by my side the whole time.
5/5 for physics
fattest book I own. I'd break my back if i tried to carry this thing around anywhere. Great textbook, though. Calc 1-4 all used this textbook.
4.75/5. the physics people split theirs into two volumes. why can't you
Really solid. You can start not knowing what an electron is and my guy jim will have you analyzing supermesh circuits in no time.
5/5 for the author has a cool website (and free pdfs of all his books)
I only needed this textbook for two chapters. My professor distributed pdf files of both, but i thought to myself, as i always do, "i'm going to get a physical copy of this here text because i much prefer them over ebooks or pdfs."
do you want to know what the fuck i realized when this book arrived? one of the two chapters i needed wasn't in the textbook. It was ON-LINE ONLY (as were several other chapters--ones that were thankfully irrelevant to me. I can only imagine what i may have done had both chapters i needed been on-line only).
I was furious. As I was examining the page entitled about the authors, trying to paint a picture of the persons who would craft such a devious volume, i noticed that this book was published in 2005.
0/5 for '05. these people have been out to get me since before i could shit in a toilet
rating every textbook I own out of 5. No rubric, just rng in my brain
A couple classics. Shouldn't actually be too hard on my laptop.
I literally just bought the second one because I was looking thru my library for stuff to put here and saw it was on sale for like $3.50
this one's multiplayer. idk how i feel about that. it was free tho
I played the OG part of the game, but I'm putting it here because I haven't done most of the new content.
my brain's too small for this tbh. i'm in love with glados tho
I'm ashamed to admit this but I'm gonna have to follow a walk through. I really tried, man
this game is too much for my shitty little graphics card to handle
I have a bunch of unplayed games in my steam library. The only reason I bought most of them is because they were super duper on sale, so I feel a lot less bad about them being unplayed. I do want to play them, though. The main reason I don't is because my laptop goes through hell trying to run them even if I nerf the graphics and framerate and what have you.
I have two tv series on blu ray. The Good Place (my all time favorite show) and Black Sails (watched 1&1/2 episodes)
About me: I hate watching footage. The only reason I watched the good place is because my best friend, whom I love dearly, forced me to watch it with her (glad she did because it's my favorite now, but I dragged my feet the whole time)
I do need to watch the rest of black sails one of these days. I've heard great things about it
